one long, oppresively hot summer when i was living in PA, my best friends and i decided to paint the door to our house. it had been a gloomy hunter green color and we thought it might be nice to brighten it up quite a bit. so, being the weirdos we are, we picked out the loudest neon color we could find. it was a greenish yellow and i'm pretty sure the man mixing our paint at home depot thought we were bonkers. at first it was quite a shock, but it actually ended up looking pretty good against the gray background of our house/crackden. unfortunately when we moved out the school bought the building and the door has been painted back to a boring white. but for the year we lived there, our house totally rocked out. here are some other neon yellow and gray combinations that i think are great.
