loving this song by regina spektor called "laughing with". not sure how i feel about the video, but i love the lyrics. though i must admit this is probably the first song i've loved with the word god in it more than once since joan osborne circa 1995.

cold war kids

i have really been in a musical rut lately. i haven't been finding much on itunes and i simply cannot wait any longer for the new vampire weekend cd to come out. the season for christmas music is over..and i was lost..until yesterday. i found this great song by the band cold war kids. i've heard them before and i wasn't initially struck by their music. that is, until i heard the song "audience". run, don't walk and please download it immediaitely. it's available on itunes from their new EP. "santa ana winds" is also really solid, and i will continue to download more this weekend. they are playing in nyc twice in january, once at terminal 5 and also somewhere in williamsburg. alas, i think i would be trampled by hipsters and that is simply not how i want to die. xoxox
