whooopaaaay paaaaayyyy

i think that i feel about whoopie pies the way many bloggers feel about macarons. i LOVE them. i HEART them. i WANT them in my tummy. it's interesting because two of my favorite places (maine and lancaster, pa) are known for whoopie pies. i wonder where they came from first? does anyone know? regardless, they are delicious and i have loved them since i was a wee one. peanut butter, chocolate, red velvet...mmmm mmmm mmmm. i really thoguht they might take off as the new cupcake, but i've yet to really see them many places. overall, i think they're perfect...it's almost as if they're tasty little cupcakes in macaron form...and who wouldn't love that?

it's my lovely roommate, M's, birthday on friday! while all the festivities are planned, i'm still at a loss as to what to bring as a sweet treat. my usual go-to are cupcakes (i like buttercup bake shop) but i'm thinking about doing something homemade this time..that doesn't come a box. i went to martha stewart for inspiration. which should i choose?

every so often..i become obsessed with one blog (okay more like very often). usually they are similar to my own, i.e. style, fashion, design etc. however, my newest fav is solely devoted to lunch and snacks..it's called lunch with front studio. these brilliant girls are architects who also happen to love food. just like me (except for the architect part). they highlight what they have for lunch and where it's from..as well as my favorite part, their 4 pm snack. i'm thinking i'll apply for a job there..

valentine's day

now, i hate to jinx anything but...there is supposed to be a killer snowstorm tonight and tommorow. i'd really be so happy if i could stay home in my pjs and bake valentine's day treats. that would be just lovely.

to be honest, pancakes aren't my favorite bfast food. i think mine is eggs. no, french toast. no, bagels. no, french fries. but pancakes are much more beautiful than my favorite foods.

howdy from cincy. i found a picture yesterday on we heart it and now i can't get it out of my head. nutella is surely one of my great weaknesses. who doesn't love nutella? it's wonderful on toast, fruit or with a spoon by itself. in italy, you can buy little dipper packets which are oh so convenient. i've even had a friend who woke up naked, gripping a jar of nutella. now that's love. here are some beautiful pics of the delicious hazelnuty/chocolate goodness. i'm really craving a crepe right now. i wish in bologna, italy and i could go to the nutelleria and get the most wonderful crepes with melted nutella and banana. who's with me?
