perfect sunday

as i begin to type this, a huge bolt of thunder has just exploded outside of my window. my candles are lit, and the music is down low so that i can hear the rain fall. wow, i know i sound so cheesy. but i feel very content right now! yesterday, my mom and i went to barnes and noble to buy a cook book ( i haven't been able to get them out of my mind for days). we originally had decided on fanny farmer, which is one of her favorites and an absolutely classic. however, i have been eyeing back to basics by ina garten for a very long time now, so we decided on that. i also stumbled on the book "julie & julia" by julie powell. i have seen the ads for the film everywhere, but i didn't know it was originally a book (though i should have). the movie doesn't come out until august 7th, so i think i'll have time to finish it by then. i started the first chapter and i'm already in love. i feel inspired to write on this, try to cook and other things too.
